Axis P32 camera configuration
Stream profiles, exposure, night mode and diagnostic logs for P3265-LV and P3265-LVE cameras.
Confirm the model
Applies to AXIS P3265-LV and P3265-LVE, using manual revision 2025-04 (M18.2). Match the installed model and interface before following these menus.
Find and open the camera
Use AXIS IP Utility or AXIS Device Manager to discover the device when its address is unknown. Open the assigned address in Chrome or Chromium. Check the camera identity and lane against the site record before changing settings. Discovery and first access are covered on manual pages 6–8.
Configure the stream profile
Under System → Stream profiles, add or edit a named profile. The profile controls codec, resolution, frame rate, compression and related stream settings; use its preview to inspect the result. The manual describes these controls on pages 63–64.
The NXT Wash Jetson/Rekor setup requests the Axis profile nxtwash with H.264:
rtsp://<camera-IP>:554/axis-media/media.amp?videocodec=h264&streamprofile=nxtwash
Match that profile name exactly. Use the resolution and frame rate approved for the deployed lane.
Exposure and night image
The following controls are described on manual pages 9–11:
| Need | Location and effect |
|---|---|
| Exposure mode | Video → Image → Exposure. Automatic is the manual's general starting mode. Flicker-free and flicker-reduced modes address artificial-light flicker and use the local power frequency. |
| Automatic night mode | Video → Image → Day-night mode. Set the IR-cut filter to Auto and use Threshold to choose when it changes to night mode. |
| Built-in IR | In night mode, Allow illumination and Synchronize illumination enable the documented built-in IR behavior. |
| Bright and dark regions | Video → Image → Wide dynamic range. WDR can recover detail across unequal lighting but can also introduce artifacts. |
| Measure image detail | The pixel counter under Video → Image measures the pixels within a selected rectangle. The manual provides the measuring tool, not an NXT Wash plate-size threshold. |
Exposure changes have tradeoffs. A longer shutter can create motion blur; reducing maximum gain can darken the image. The blur/noise control trades motion detail against noise. Assess the lane image under the conditions that caused the problem before settling on a setting.
An Axis privacy mask obscures part of the camera image. The Rekor detection mask is configured in Scout to define its analysis area. Check which application owns the setting before editing it.
Capture diagnostics
Under System → Logs → Reports and logs (page 69):
- System log records startup events, warnings and critical messages.
- Access log records failed access attempts.
- Device server report packages status information and the access log. Its downloaded ZIP also includes a snapshot of the current camera view.
- Crash report provides additional debug information for an application or server failure.
Record the lane, camera model, address and incident time with the report. Send diagnostic files through the support process rather than adding them to this public documentation library.
If the camera page cannot be reached
The manual's network troubleshooting (pages 86–87) distinguishes subnet mismatch, duplicate addresses, an address changed by DHCP, and HTTP/HTTPS access settings. Confirm the recorded address and rediscover the correct device before changing network settings. Preserve the lane assignment while resolving the access problem.
