Membership tag is not being recognized
Separate an RFID-reader issue from plate-recognition or account issues.
What RFID means
RFID is the tag-reading system. It is different from the camera-based license plate recognition system, often called LPR. Some sites may be transitioning between them.
Staff checks
- Identify the lane and confirm that the customer is using the site's expected identification method.
- Record whether one tag fails or multiple tags fail.
- Note whether another lane recognizes tags.
- Visually check for power/link indicators on the reader's connection and report what you see.
- If a neighboring lane appears to read the tag, record both lane numbers and the vehicle position.
What support will check
Technicians check PoE power, DHCP assignment, UHF Reader settings and middleware integration. An inappropriate LPR ingest setup can interfere with RFID processing.
Reader power and positioning affect missed reads and cross-lane reads. Configuration changes should follow the installed reader model and lane layout.
Recovery check
With support, verify that a known test tag is seen in the intended lane and that the expected membership appears in NXT Wash. A raw tag read alone does not confirm account matching.
