NXT Wash RFID reader setup and diagnosis

Confirm PoE, network settings, reader mode, and lane behavior.

Scope

Match this UHF Reader procedure to the installed model and confirm whether the lane uses RFID, LPR or a planned transition.

Connection and setup

  1. Connect the reader to a PoE port on the intended NXT Wash network.
  2. Use an authorized Windows service device with the network access required to reach the reader. Preserve the remote-support connection while changing networks.
  3. The note gives 192.168.0.250 as the reader default address; verify the label.
  4. Change the reader to DHCP, save, and restart it; identify its assigned address.
  5. In UHF Reader, select TCP, port 27011, and the assigned reader IP. Connect with Open Net.
  6. Select Get Reader Info, then Get Work Mode Parameter.
  7. Use power 20 as a starting point and Answer Mode. Save the power and work-mode settings using the appropriate controls.
  8. On the EPCC1-G2-Test tab, use Query with a test tag to establish whether reads are reaching the service tool.

Tune for the lane

Missed reads and neighboring-lane reads require checking both reader position and power. Validate the intended lane with the on-site operator.

RFID / LPR transition

An unused Rekor ingest service can interfere with RFID processing. Stopping and disabling rekor-ingest.service in that specific transition scenario. Confirm the deployment plan before changing a recognition service; this is not a general instruction to turn off LPR.

End-to-end check

Confirm both the tag read and the correct result in NXT Wash. Record the final reader address, mode, lane, and test outcome without copying credentials into the documentation.
