MicroDrive: maintenance & mechanical reference
A manager’s maintenance schedule with direct links for the service technician.
Plan the maintenance
The MicroDrive manual assigns maintenance by qualification and interval. Use these entries when scheduling service and documenting completed work.
| Interval | Work described by the manufacturer | Assigned role |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | Inspect housing, anchors, arm and accessories for damage/corrosion; inspect light-barrier lenses and mirrors where fitted. | Specialist |
| Every 6 months | Check GFCI operation and the listed housing, arm, flange and accessory fasteners. | Electrical specialist for GFCI; specialist for fasteners |
| Every 12 months | Check mechanics, spring balance, arm position, loops, safety equipment, operation, settings, wiring, labels and foundation fastening. | MicroDrive service specialist |
| As conditions require | Clean the arm and housing interior; shorten intervals if wear increases. | Specialist |
Full maintenance schedule, pages 160–161. The safety instructions also call for monthly system testing and retesting after adjustments: page 3.
Spring balance and incomplete travel
The manual checks spring balance with the motor warm, power isolated and secured against reactivation, and the arm at approximately 30°. An arm that will not stay there needs adjustment by the service specialist. The illustrated procedure shows the lever system and adjustment direction.
Balancing springs, pages 81–83.
For incomplete opening or closing, give support the symptom and any display code before mechanical work. Manufacturer malfunction table, pages 163–165.
Keep a useful service record
Record the lane, date, findings, work performed, technician, and the results of the operational/safety check. Keep people outside the moving arm’s path; the barrier is designed for vehicle traffic, with a separate pedestrian route.
