PAX readiness and parameter refresh
Check network readiness and coordinate with the payments team.
Normal idle screen
All credit card readers normally sit on the Welcome screen when idle, including the PAX IM30, A35 and A77.
A message such as “Transaction cancelled” does not, by itself, mean there is a problem with the reader. Distinguish the transaction message from an actual failure to accept payments.
See the normal Welcome-screen photo.
Before changing settings
Record serial number, organization, site, device role, exact error, and the installed payment application. Obtain authorized device access through the approved channel.
DCDirect parameter refresh
- Open DCDirect and verify the readiness indicators are green.
- Wait approximately 30 seconds after opening DCDirect before retrying Get Parameters.
- Choose Get Parameters, then confirm.
- Observe the parameter download and return to the normal Welcome screen.
- Verify readiness with the payments team and perform the site's approved payment test.
For PSCS Parameters not found, a 60-second power removal preceded a successful parameter refresh in the recorded case. Confirm this recovery step with the payments team.
Provisioning and network errors
Main App Initializing, Please wait then retry can indicate a device not added to the processor account. Device is not initialized calls for checking network readiness and waiting for DCDirect initialization.
Scheduled restart
Confirm the site time zone and an out-of-hours restart time with the manager and payments team. A standard White Water restart time is not yet defined.
Specialized work
OS updates, PAX Store removal, key injection and payment-server changes require the payments team’s device-specific procedure.
