XPT5 hardware retrofit for NXT Wash
White Water’s replacement screen, direct HDMI/USB connection, IM30, scanner and cash-device conversion.
Before starting
Confirm the mounting kit, cabinet model and shipped switch configuration. Do not factory-reset a preconfigured switch unless the implementation team confirms it is required.
White Water requests no-cut EMV mounting. The illustrated method enlarges the IM30 opening; obtain the approved no-cut kit and diagram before mounting the reader.
Applies to this retrofit
White Water will replace the kiosk screen. Connect the replacement display directly to the new middleware PC with HDMI for picture and USB for touch. The supplied 8-page XPT5 retrofit guide provides the middleware, switch and peripheral connection reference.
This is technician installation work. Before starting, ensure power-off before unplugging or cutting, cable labels, covering electronics during cutting, and removal of metal shavings before closing the unit. Open the illustrated illustrated guide.
Parts and preparation — page 1
The parts list includes a middleware PC, PoE switch, power strip, PAX IM30, barcode scanner and mount, HDMI and USB A-to-B cables, serial-to-Molex and serial-to-USB dispenser cables, and Ethernet patch leads. It also lists XPT keys/crank, cutting tools, screwdrivers/socket set, and cleanup equipment.
Display and network — pages 2–5
With the kiosk shut down, disconnect the old screen connections and install the replacement screen using its supplied mounting hardware. The replacement switch receives the home run and the lane Ethernet connections. The middleware receives power and Ethernet; the replacement screen’s HDMI and USB touch cable connect directly to that middleware. PDF pages 3–5 illustrate the middleware and display connection paths.
IM30 and scanner — page 6
Remove the fascia, old reader and old scanner. It describes enlarging the metal and plastic openings for the IM30, reinstalling the fascia, and connecting reader power plus Ethernet to the PoE switch. The replacement barcode scanner uses its new bracket and connects to the middleware.
Cash devices — pages 6–8
The dispenser's old serial-to-Molex connection is replaced; the new cable connects through serial-to-USB to the middleware. The XPT5 guide specifically calls for removing the TM1 jumper on the dispenser's right side. The bill acceptor's USB moves from the old control module to the middleware. Match the pictured dispenser before using the jumper instruction; it is not stated in the ICS guide.
Startup and checks — page 8
Check cable clearance and cleanup, then power up the kiosk and verify middleware boot. If the implementation team requires switch initialization, the illustrated procedure uses a 15-second reset, yellow Ethernet lights and a wait for restart.
Then check NXT Wash picture and touch, home-run/gate/LPR/IM30 links, a test card transaction, barcode scan, bill acceptance and a test dispense, before closing and locking the doors.
