NXT Wash equipment and software glossary

Plain-language meanings of the equipment labels and software terms used in this library.

Network and rack terms

Term / diagram label Meaning in this library
NXTR / NXT Wash router The gateway connecting NXT Wash's local networks to the site's internet connection.
PSw / primary switch The central network switch connecting site and lane equipment. The current White Water map uses 24 ports.
Lane switch / L1 Sw The local switch serving a lane's devices; its uplink connects back to the primary switch.
POS switch The local switch for POS equipment; the map shows the printer, card reader and POS terminal connections.
Patch panel The rack's cable-termination/patching area, shown between the router mount and primary switch in the preferred layout.
LAN Local area network. The map distinguishes the site-device LAN from the TCS tunnel LAN.
VLAN 120 The assigned network segment for the documented TCS tunnel connection. It does not by itself define an endpoint's IP address or tagging settings.
PoE Power over Ethernet: a compatible switch supplies power through the network cable. White Water's RFID readers and cameras use it.
DHCP Automatic IP assignment. Both lane and POS card readers are shown as DHCP devices in the map.
Home run / feed line The network cable connecting a lane or workstation area back to the main network.
UPS / battery backup Backup power equipment at the bottom of the preferred rack arrangement. Required capacity and runtime depend on the selected installation.

Devices and recognition

Term / diagram label Meaning in this library
MW / middleware computer The computer running local NXT Wash integration services. A lane middleware computer connects the replacement screen and installed peripherals to NXT Wash.
Middleware server A service-host role in the network map, planned at .50; lane middleware devices have separate .101–.109 addresses.
POS Point of sale: the staff sales terminal/application.
Kiosk / lane terminal The customer-facing sales station in a lane. The replacement screen uses HDMI for picture and USB for touch.
Tunnel loader / TNL LDR The station/application used for the tunnel vehicle/wash handoff. It is separate from the tunnel controller.
Tunnel controller / TNL CNTR Equipment controlling tunnel functions. Match the installed controller model to its applicable guide.
TCS1 / TCS2 Tunnel-controller equipment families documented in the White Water references. Model-specific hardware and network instructions apply.
TunnelWatch Tunnel-control software referenced in the controller guides. Its existing settings are separate from the requested NXT Wash integration-configuration GUI.
rTC Kesseltronics tunnel controller; the standard map lists its interface at 192.168.100.91.
CC reader / PAX Credit-card payment reader. PAX is the reader brand shown in the lane and POS diagrams.
EMV reader Payment-card reader term used in the conversion requirements. Use the installed PAX model's mounting and setup guide.
RFID Radio-frequency identification used to read membership tags. A detected tag still needs correct lane routing and customer matching.
LPR / ALPR License-plate recognition / automatic license-plate recognition.
Jetson / JET The lane processing device used for the camera's license-plate recognition feed.
Rekor Scout Recognition software referenced by the Jetson setup guide.
CAM / lane camera The camera providing the lane recognition image stream.
Car Pics The optional additional camera view shown separately from the lane recognition camera.

Software and configuration

Term Meaning in this library
UIRM The local application component managed by the middleware installer; its web interface is listed on port 5173.
Local Kiosk / Local Tunnel Local application endpoints listed on ports 5174 and 5175. Select the service host for the intended role.
Lane Assist Application listed on port 5182, with a separate WebSocket service on 5176.
Lane Customer Display / Tunnel Welcome Display Display applications listed on ports 5183 and 5184.
Middleware API The software interface to middleware. The map lists v1 documentation at /swagger and v2 at /api/v2/docs, both on port 5000.
Endpoint A service address, normally consisting of the host IP, port and any required path.
WebSocket The application connection type identified by the map's ws:// Lane Assist endpoint.
Cash middleware The software component handling communication with configured bill acceptors and dispensers.
PM2 Process-management tooling used for local application startup and logs in the middleware installer references.
Lane mapping The association between a device or recognition event and the lane that should receive it.
Preconfiguration Preparing the device's software and site/lane settings before it arrives. It still needs a documented handoff and site acceptance check.
Cutover Moving a site function from its previous operating arrangement to NXT Wash during the agreed work window.

For equipment pictures, use the equipment directory. For exact URL patterns, use Local application endpoints.
