Self-install readiness
Equipment preparation, installation prerequisites and White Water support decisions.
Installation essentials
Use the installation playbook for staging and cutover, the network map for standard connections, and NXT Wash Admin for current location information and controller codes.
- Internet: 50 Mbps download / 50 Mbps upload minimum.
- Rack: 9U, including 4U for middleware/Jetsons and the 2U SMART1500LCD UPS. Place the power strip behind the computer shelf. See rack layout for dimensions, airflow and cabling.
- Computers: follow Ubuntu flashing, then the appropriate NXT Wash installation and role configuration. Follow the account and handoff steps in the installation guide.
- Equipment should arrive with software, site/lane identities and network settings prepared. Confirm the shipment's configuration and test results before connecting it. Card readers use DHCP.
- White Water provides an on-site IT installer; identify the NXT Wash implementation contact for each conversion.
Resolve before a self-install
| Item | Needed |
|---|---|
| XPT no-cut reader mounting | Mounting kit and model-specific diagrams. The illustrated XPT method enlarges the reader opening. |
| Auto Sentry mounting | Confirm cabinet variant, faceplate/bracket kit and no-cut compatibility. |
| Preconfigured switches | Confirm whether any factory reset is required. Do not reset a preconfigured switch without the implementation team's direction. |
| Reused Lobby/POS and Loader computers | Supported hardware, role/backend assignment, peripheral setup, recovery and acceptance steps. Ubuntu installation alone does not finish commissioning. |
| Middleware and backend training | White Water IT needs a walkthrough of the supported release, device configuration and backend setup before installing independently. |
| TunnelWatch integration | Configuration GUI access, adding services, save/apply/recovery steps and training. |
| Power and rack hardware | Confirm shelf/bracket fit and clearances. Power/PoE load and required UPS runtime: TBD by White Water. |
| Device access | White Water IT to arrange installer access and device handoff. |
Conversion targets
The requested targets are 4 hours or less for conversion and less than 1 hour of downtime. Agree the pre-work, timing boundaries and site exceptions with the implementation team; these are targets, not confirmed service commitments.
Support and reopening
Staff use WWX Support: (401) 209-1110 or the support ticket portal first. Only White Water technicians contact NXT Wash.
Urgent/after-hours routing, post-outage reopening authority and minimum reopening checks: TBD by White Water.
