Prepare the site for an NXT Wash installation

A manager checklist drawn from the White Water installation guide.

Before the install date

  1. Confirm merchant readiness and membership-data exports with the NXT Wash onboarding team.
  2. Identify and label required cable runs.
  3. Reserve 9U for the current rack layout, including 4U for middleware/Jetsons and the 2U SMART1500LCD UPS. Mount the power strip at the back of the middleware/Jetson shelf within its 4U area; confirm mounting and cable clearances.
  4. Clean and organize kiosk interiors so the installer can trace connections.
  5. Have qualified personnel confirm suitable power for middleware and card readers, especially in ICS kiosks.
  6. Confirm equipment deliveries and report missing items early.
  7. Confirm at least 50 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload for the site internet connection. Gather existing ISP static-IP information, if used.
  8. Prepare site Google accounts for tablets and provide the NXT Wash Wi-Fi names, each ending in -N.
  9. Arrange authorized access to existing systems and the preferred remote-support provider.
  10. Gather Legacy POS System interface codes for packages, extras, commands, and tunnel-app configuration.

Agree on the work window

Record downtime tolerance, opening and closing times, after-hours access, and who can authorize lane or tunnel interruptions. Confirm whether the tunnel may be tested after hours and who knows its startup/shutdown procedure.

During installation

Do not stack equipment. Support each device on its own mounting hardware or shelf surface and allow adequate airflow around all vents, following manufacturer clearances. Do not place anything directly on top of the rack. Terminate incoming network drops from elsewhere on site with keystone jacks, label their destinations, and use patch cables to connect them to the appropriate switch ports.

Have the installer confirm devices at the rack before moving them into the field. Establish a working tablet early if it is part of the operational fallback plan. Coordinate kiosk conversion one lane at a time.

Before handoff

Agree on a test for each affected function and record unresolved items with an owner.

Confirm replacement-shipping deadlines with the installation team.
