XPT 5 and XPT 5+ manual guide

Choose the correct XPT edition for installation, diagnostics and cleaning.

Choose the hardware generation first

XPT 5 and XPT 5+ use different manuals. Check the equipment label and installed modules before selecting a manual. A later revision for one generation is not automatically the right manual for the other.

Equipment Installation Hardware service
XPT 5 Rev J, 98 PDF pages; Rev I, 97 PDF pages earlier edition Rev J, 65 PDF pages, dated May 29, 2018
XPT 5+ Rev N, 103 PDF pages Rev L, 67 PDF pages, dated September 23, 2022

Links use PDF page numbers; printed section numbering restarts within the hardware manuals.

Bill-acceptor diagnostics depend on the model

The XPT 5 service manual identifies an MEI AE-series acceptor. The XPT 5+ manual identifies Talos for the U.S. configuration and Canadian Talos or Coinco Vantage VX for the Canadian configuration. The actual installed acceptor takes precedence over that standard equipment list.

Indication MEI in XPT 5 Rev J Talos in XPT 5+ Rev L
Three flashes Cleaning needed Lower housing removed
Normal indication LED on One flash per second
Five flashes Stacker removed Stacker removed
Continuous fast flashing Stacker full Stacker full

Use the complete matching tables: MEI, PDF page 26 and Talos / Vantage VX, PDF page 25. Do not interpret a Vantage VX using the Talos column. The manuals also show different LED positions, so identify the acceptor before recording its pattern.

Cleaning and retained components

Both service editions describe a soft damp cloth for the original touchscreen and prohibit ammonia-based cleaners. They also specify monthly cleaning of the original display's protruding light sensor with a damp cloth and mild detergent: XPT 5 page 20, XPT 5+ page 18.

For the documented Fujitsu dispenser, the manuals cover sensors and cassette rollers separately. Sensor cleaning uses canned electronics air; site compressed-air lines can introduce damaging moisture or pressure. See XPT 5 page 34 or XPT 5+ page 33 and continue through the roller instructions.

These instructions apply to the retained component named in the manual. White Water's NXT Wash conversion replaces the kiosk display, so use the replacement screen's own care instructions for that screen.
