| NXTR | NXT Wash router; connects the NXT Wash network to the internet connection. |
| PSw | Primary switch; connects the site's NXT Wash network devices. |
| Lane switch | Network switch at a kiosk or lane. |
| PoE | Power over Ethernet; a compatible network port supplies power to a device. |
| MW / middleware | Computer/software connecting NXT Wash applications with local equipment. |
| POS | Point of sale, used by staff for sales. |
| XPT | Legacy POS System paystation hardware that may have been converted to NXT Wash. |
| PAX / IM30 / A77 / A35 | Payment-terminal brand and models. |
| RFID | Tag-based customer/vehicle identification. |
| LPR | License plate recognition using a camera and processing software. |
| Jetson / JET | Device processing camera feeds for plate recognition. |
| Rekor Scout | License-plate recognition software running on the Jetson. |
| Loader / TNL LDR | Operator interface used in the tunnel-loading process. |
| TCS / TNL CNTR | Tunnel control system/controller. |
