White Water installation and cutover sequence
Stage the network, convert one lane at a time, and coordinate tunnel downtime.
Preconditions
Complete the manager preparation checklist, identify the decision-maker on site, and agree on a downtime window. Obtain authorized access through the approved credential channel.
Stage and validate at the rack
- Install and power the battery backup and designated power distribution.
- Connect the preconfigured NXT Wash router WAN to the appropriate ISP LAN connection using a known-good cable.
- Confirm the router finishes booting and reports connectivity.
- Connect the primary switch to the router and verify link lights.
- Bring the remote installer into the session and arrange the required support access.
- Power and charge tablets and mobile readers.
- Bring edge switches, middleware computers, recognition processors, cameras, RFID readers, and card readers online one at a time.
- Validate the equipment before adding field cabling and site variables.
Convert kiosks one lane at a time
Replace the kiosk screens as part of the conversion. Connect each replacement screen directly to middleware: HDMI for picture, USB for touch, plus the screen’s power connection.
Identify the feed, gate, RFID, recognition camera, optional Car Pics camera, and payment-reader cables. Confirm whether devices are home runs or routed through another kiosk. Shared gate or camera wiring can create wider downtime.
Move the agreed feed to the primary switch and the lane switch; confirm that the installer can see the switch. Connect each lane device to its designated port, ensuring PoE devices use supported PoE ports. Label and secure spare runs so they cannot create a network loop.
Loader and TCS2 controller
Both moves interrupt the existing operation. The White Water installation overview identifies primary-switch port 20 for the loader and port 22 for the TCS2 controller. Confirm the VLAN 120 profile on port 22 with the installer before connecting the controller.
Restart TunnelWatch, confirm cloud connectivity, and verify wash sending. The TCS2 configuration uses Setup → General Configuration → Queue Length = 1 for the described TCS2 installation; verify applicability before changing a live controller and use Save and Invoke when a change is authorized.
ISP static-IP exception
A single static-IP connection in bridge mode needs a coordinated WAN cutover. Record the gateway, mask, usable address, existing WAN configuration, and recovery plan before the network owner changes anything. Plan the outage and confirm both NXT Wash and downstream connectivity after the change.
Handoff
Record the actual port map, device roles, tested functions, outstanding issues, and support ownership.
