XPT 5 Control Module
Product: XPT 5 Control Module w/SSD (XP11000)
This topic describes the control module in an XPT 5 and XPT 5+.
The control module includes a motherboard, SSD, and I/O boards that interface to the components in the main XPT case, and to external gates and third-party devices.
The control module is considered a "sealed" unit, meaning that we should not try to remove any protective covers or disassemble the module – individual components are not field-replaceable.
When compared to previous generations of XPT, the control module is a single piece of hardware that replaces all of the following devices:
Carrier board assembly
Wash I/O board
Misc. I/O board
*SSD can be replaced independent of the entire module

The Vault Lock is not indicating the proper status in maintenance mode when unlocked/locked
1. Look at the Vault Lock LED on the front of the control module while locking/unlocking the vault lock.
a. LED turns off when unlocked, and on when locked (opposite of normal operation).
i. Verify the connectors from the cash devices harness are connected to the two outside terminals on the switch (normally closed); the middle terminal is not used.
b. LED remains off.
i. Temporarily touch a jumper wire between the two terminals on the switch that connect to the cash devices harness.
If the LED turns on, the switch is faulty and needs to be replaced.
c. LED remains on.
i. Manually depress the switch arm.
If the LED turns off, gently bend the switch arm towards the lock cylinder so it will make greater contact with the lock plug when inserted.
If the LED does not turn off, disconnect one of the wires from the back of the switch.
If the LED turns off, the switch is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If the LED does not turn off, the control module needs to be replaced.
The Vault Door Switch is not indicating the proper status in maintenance mode when opened/closed
1. Look at the Vault Door LED on the front of the control module while opening/closing the vault door.
a. LED turns on when opened, and off when closed (opposite of normal operation).
i. Verify the connectors from the wire harness are connected to the two terminals on the switch marked COM and NO.
b. LED remains off.
i. Temporarily touch a paperclip or jumper wire between the two terminals on the back of the switch that connect to the cash devices harness.

b. If the LED remains on continuously, disconnect the wash input connector.
i. If the LED remains on, the control module likely needs to be replaced.
ii. If the LED turns off, inspect the wiring between the wash input connector and the third-party device that's being monitored, as well as the third-party device itself.
A Wash Output or Fault Output is not turning on or off when it should
The outputs are rated at 1A max for Fault Outputs 1-4, 500mA max for Fault Output 5, 1A max combined for Wash Outputs 1-8, 120V max AC or DC.
1. Look at the status LEDs (blue) for each output next to the Fault Output and Wash Output connectors.
a. If the LED does not turn on when the output should be active, consider connecting the third-party device to another unused output on the control module, or consider replacing the control module.
b. If the LEDs turn on and off when they should, but the third-party device that's being controlled does not respond correctly, use a multimeter to measure resistance of the output.
i. Set the multimeter to measure resistance and place the probes on the output terminals.
ii. Turn the output ON in maintenance mode.
The resistance should measure less than 1 Ohm.
If it does not, consider connecting the third-party device to another unused output on the control module, or consider replacing the control module.
